On Thinking Clearly
Few obaservations I made about thinking patterns in myself and people around me.
Things I have come to realize about thinking:
-
Always think from first principles. It’s harder than it sounds, but worth the effort.
-
Keep the language simple. If something can be explained simply, there is no need to complicate it with fancy words just to make yourself feel better.
-
Never accept something you doubt. It’s okay not to know. I’d rather admit I don’t know than accept something that might be wrong.
-
Entertain your thoughts, but learn to detach when they become overwhelming or start draining your energy. Don’t ignore them, acknowledge them, then let them go.
